Time For Red & White

Happy Birthday Canada! Canada Day kicks off what Canadians call, “those two months before winter starts”. Across the country, Canadians are spreading the Canadian love and celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act, 1867 which united three colonies into a single country called Canada. This is the best time to hit the streets and celebrate with crowds, music, traditional food and fireworks!

Did you know that in 1963 parliamentarians asked Canadians to help design the official flag? Of the 3,541 submissions, nearly 400 thought a beaver should be front and centre, while one submission portrayed the disembodied heads of the four Beatles encircling fleur-de-lys. You can guess what happened next…

Do you have a Canadian flag? If not, you can get one for free, by adding your name to the waiting list and you will receive a flag that was actually flown on Parliament Hill! But keep in mind that the expected delay for your flag delivery is now up to 54 years for a Peace Tower flag. If you want to diminish your wait time by 14 years, order an East or West block flag.

This month Crepe Delicious features our take on Red & White, fresh strawberries and creamy custard wrapped together in our signature crepe and sprinkled with icing sugar. Come on in and try one… celebrations have never been so tasty!
