Children Learn Better When Well-Nourished

Many people may be surprised to learn that almost one-third of elementary school students and almost two-thirds of secondary school students attend classes without the benefits of a healthy breakfast each and every day. Breakfast is considered to be the most important meal of the day and, among its key outcomes, is associated with improvements in academic performance and cognitive function in children and adolescents.

Not just any breakfast however, but a nutritional and well-balanced meal that will provide children with a healthy start to their school day. A bowl of sugar-coated cereal or a handful of cookies really does not constitute a proper breakfast as they provide little in the way of overall nutritive value. Children and adolescents need a proper start to their day in order to be physically prepared and in the right frame of mind to learn and behave better in school.

This is why Crepe Delicious is a very proud supporter of Breakfast for Learning, a national not-for-profit organization with the explicit vision of ensuring that every child attends school well-nourished and ready to learn.  Crepe Delicious hosts various events throughout the year to raise funds for this worthy cause, and we take pride in visiting schools to provide nutritious breakfasts to children in need.

Together, with your support, we can help make the Breakfast for Learning vision a reality. When children are hungry, it can be difficult for them to learn.  Your donation will not only help to feed these children, but feed their success as well.
