The Bird is the Word!

The Thanksgiving holiday is truly a thing of beauty. This October 13th, we plan on taking full advantage of this fun and tasty tradition. Let’s face it…we all LOVE the food. But before eating ourselves silly with turkey and mashed potatoes, let’s give thanks for our good fortune. In fact, research suggests that expressing gratitude for our blessings will indeed help us have a better life. We believe the opportunity to spend time with family and friends and celebrating life in the best country on earth is truly priceless.

In Canada, we produce approximately 5,000 metric tons of cranberries annually, mainly from Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. Bala, Ontario claims to be the Cranberry Capital of Canada and holds the iconic Cranberry Festival on October 17, 18 & 19. But did you know that to check the ripeness of a cranberry, all you need to do it throw it at the ground? As long as it bounces higher than four inches it is ready to be eaten! Who knew that this is what it takes to make the perfect cranberry sauce for your turkey!

Can’t wait for your Thanksgiving feast? Experience a true season sensation with our Turkey Thanks crepe. This bundle of goodness boasts turkey slices and fresh veggies, topped with dried cranberries ant sweet strawberries. For a whole month of celebration…The bird is the word!

There’s a lot to be grateful for this Thanksgiving: friends and family, a long weekend, leftovers… and don’t forget Canada! HAPPY THANKSGIVING, fellow Canadians! Have a great and safe holiday!
